The Little Horn- An Antichrist arises.

In Daniel chapter 2 Nebuchadnezzar had a dream of 4 Kingdoms that should rule the earth. In Daniel chapter 7 Daniel has a vision [Daniel 7:1,2].   A dream of 4 beasts coming out of the earth. And a dream about a little horn who rises out of this beast. Daniel 7 as we shall soon see is Daniel 2 with a more detailed and expansive and further  look at this history. This is a repetitive prophecy. Daniel and the Revelation are sister books which as we continue in these prophecies will soon see that they interpet and help unlock each other.

1. Daniel sees 4 beasts come up from the sea [Daniel 7:3]. What does the sea represent in bible prophecy?

Rev 17:15 And he saith unto me, The WATERS which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are PEOPLES, multitudes, and NATIONS, and tongues.

Note: Waters or sea represent a populated area.


2. What does a beast represent in Bible prophecy?

Dan 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth KINGDOM shall be the fourth BEAST upon earth

Note: A beast in prophecy represents a Kingdom.

3. What 4 beasts did Daniel see rise out of the sea?

Dan 7:4-7 The first was like a LION, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. And behold another beast, a second, like to a BEAR, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. After this I beheld, and lo another, like a LEOPARD, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was DIVERSE from all the beasts that were before it; and it had IRON TEETH.

4. What Kingdom does the Lion represent? [Daniel 7:4]

Jer 50:17 Israel is a scattered sheep; the LIONS have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadnezzar king of BABYLON hath broken his bones.
Jer 50:43-44 The king of BABYLON hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail. Behold, he shall come up like a LION from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

Note: Babylon the first kingdom of Daniel 2 also, is pictured by Jeremiah as a lion. The eagles wings represent speed [ Deuteronomy 28:49, Jeremiah 4:13, Habbukuk 1:6-9]. And the "Four winds that strove upon the sea"[Daniel 7:2] Represent wars, strife, commotion and destruction. See [Jeremiah 25:32-33, Revelation 7:1-3].

5. What Kingdom does the bear represent? [Daniel 7:5]


Dan 8:20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.
Dan 5:28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the MEDES and PERSIANS
Dan 5:31 And Darius the MEDIAN took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.

Note: Daniel 8 parrelels the Kingdoms of Daniel 7. Daniel 8:20 specifically names Medo-Persia as the kingdom that precedes the rough goat, or Greece, of verse 21. It is the second world kingdom--the same power as the bear of Daniel 7. The Second Kingdom was made up of 2 groups of people. The Medes came up first[As shown by the bear coming up on one side Daniel 7:5]. But the persians became a stonger Kingdom. [As shown in Daniel 8:3 by the Rams Horn which came up last grew higher]
The 3 ribs in it's mouth represent the three main powers that they conquered [Lydia, Egypt, and Babylon].

6. What Kingdom does the Leopard represent? [Daniel 7:6]

Dan 8:21 And the rough goat is the king of GRECIA: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

Dan 11:1-4..... Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him. And now will I show thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in ME; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Greece. And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall RULE with great dominion, and do according to his will. And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven;...

Note: In Daniel 2, 7,8, 11 as well as historical records show that Daniels prophecy of Greece becoming the next world Kingdom has came to pass. Alexander conquered with speed. as noted by the 4 wings on the leopard. [Daniel 7:6, 4:13].

The four heads on the leopard represent the four generals to whom Alexanders Kingdom was divided when he died. The four generals were : Cassander, Lysimachus, Ptolemy, and Seleucus. Also shown in Daniel 11 as 4 winds or Kingdoms, North, South, East, and West.

7. What was the fourth diverse beast with 10 horns? And what do the horns represent?


Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great IRON teeth: it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Note: As in Daniel 2, the next great Kingdom on the earth was the Roman empire. The 10 Kingdoms are the 10 toes as described in Daniel 2:41-44. Nearing the end of the Roman Empire there were many barbarian tribes. 3 were rooted up as we will shortly discuss. Here is a list of the 10 tribes and the names they possess today. Visigoths--Spain, Anglo-Saxons--England, Franks--France, Alemani--Germany, Burgundians--Switzerland, Lombards--Italy, Suevi--Portugal, Heruli--Rooted up, Ostrogoths--Rooted up, Vandals--Rooted up

8. After the beasts, what happens next?

Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another LITTLE HORN, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Note: Many ponder who this little horn is. The reason being is that it has all the same characteristics of the beast and it’s image of Revelation 13. The importance of identifying this character is to identify it's Mark which will then help us to know what the Mark of the Beast is, who is enforcing this Mark on the people, as well we will discuss the seal of God.  Future study of the Second Beast and the Image of the Beast are important as well in understanding who will enforce this mark of authority. An ever important subject that is widely misunderstood. so that we are able to take heed and help spread this message to the world.

9. What are some important points to help us identify the Little Horn that comes forth from the fourth Kingdom?

a. It will come up among the divided Kingdom somewhere between the time of 350-500 A.D.[v8]
b. It would be a little Kingdom. As noted by the little horn [v8]
c. It would have a man speak at the head of it. [v8]
d. It would be "diverse" or different from the other 10 Kingdoms. [v24]
e. It would "Pluck up" or "subdue" 3 of the 10 divisions. [v8, v24]
f. It would speak great words against God. [v25]
g. It would emerge from Pagan Rom [v7, 8]
h. It would wear out the Saints for "time, times, and dividing a time" [v25]
i. It would "THINK" to change times and laws[v25]

Note: I'm sure many already realize who we are getting to. These points are not speculation or opinion, but the word of God. Historians could tell you quickly whom is being described here. These points fit only one power. Papal Rome. To be sure we will go over each point, so that there is no room left for doubt.

a. comes up among the divided Kingdom[v8]

The Papacy came up in Rome Italy, the heart of the divided Kingdom.

b. It would be a little Kingdom. As noted by little Horn. [v8]

Rome is now known as the smallest country in the world.

c. It would have a man speak at the head of it. [v8]

The Papacy does have a head. He is known as the Pope.

d. It would be "diverse" or different from the other 10 Kingdoms. [v24]

The Papacy is diverse in that it is a "Religious" power. Meanwhile the other 10 kingdoms were "Secular" Powers.

e. It would "Pluck up" or "subdue" 3 of the 10 divisions. [v8, v24]

The emperors of Western Europe were largely Catholic and supported the papacy in its growth and authority. Three Arian kingdoms, however, did not support the papacy--the Vandals, Heruli, and Ostrogoths. So the Catholic emperors decided they must be subdued or destroyed. Here is how Dr. Mervyn Maxwell, a theologian and historian, described the results in volume 1, page 129, of his book God Cares: "The Catholic emperor Zeno (474-491) arranged a treaty with the Ostrogoths in 487 which resulted in the eradication of the kingdom of the Arian Heruls in 493. And the Catholic emperor Justinian (527-565) exterminated the Arian Vandals in 534 and significantly broke the power of the Arian Ostrogoths in 538. Thus were Daniel's three horns --the Heruls, the Vandals, and the Ostrogoths--'plucked up by the roots.' " It is not difficult to recognize that the papacy fits this point.

f. It would speak great words against God. [v25]

The Bible defines blasphemy as man claiming to forgive sins (Luke 5:21) and claiming to be God (John 10:33). The papacy has set up a confessional for people to get there sins forgiven.


"Does the Priest truly forgive the sins, or does he only declare that they are remitted? The Priest does really and truly forgive the sins in virtue of the power given to him by Christ."

And he also claims to be God.............

"We [the popes] hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty."

Note: These words of the Pope are shocking to those who know and understand the clear word of God. But to those who do not. We must share these truths that lie right beneath our eyes.

g. It would emerge from Pagan Rome [v7, 8]

There is little doubt here, but to let Rome answer for themselves.



"The mighty Catholic Church was little more than the Roman Empire baptised ... The very capital of the old Roman Empire became the capital of the Christian empire. The office of Pontifex Maximus was continued in that of the pope."

"Whatever Roman elements the barbarians and Arians left ... [came] under the protection of the Bishop of Rome, who was the chief person there after the emperor's disappearance. So again we see the Papacy fits the point.

h. It would wear out the Saints for "times, time, and dividing a time" [v25]

Note: This time period is mentioned in scriptures in a couple other places.

REV 13:5 FORTY TWOmonths.
REV 12:6 TWELVE HUNDRED AND SIXTY days.

A time is "One year" times is "Two years" and half a time is "Half a year". In a Jewish year there are 360 days. A Jewish month was 30 days. So a time would be 360 days. times [two years] equal to 720 days and half a time [6 months woud be 180 days which totals 1260 days. So then the little horn would wear out the Saints for 1260 days.
In bible time prophecy a day is equal to a year. [Ezekiel 4:6, Numbers 14:34].

1260 days = 42 months="times, time and half a time"

So this little horn power was to have power over the saints for 1260 years.

"The Sunday...is purely a creation of the Catholic Church."

"The Catholic church," declared Cardinal Gibbons, "by virtue of her divine mission changed the day from Saturday to Sunday."

From the Douay Catechism (Roman Catholic) p 143, we read:

Q. What is Sunday, or the Lord's Day in general?

A. It is a day dedicated by the Apostles to the honour of the most holy Trinity, and in memory that Christ our Lord arose from the dead upon Sunday, sent down the holy Ghost on a Sunday, &c. and therefore is called the Lord's Day. It is also called Sunday from the old Roman denomination of Dies Solis, the day of the sun, to which it was sacred

Note: These are some of 100's. The Papacy is the Little Horn of Daniel 7, also known as the First beast of Revelation 13.

10. What is the Sabbath of the God of the bible?

Exo 20:10 But the SEVENTH DAY is the sabbath of the LORD thy God:

Note: The Sabbath starts sundown Friday night and extends to Sundown Saturday. This will be examined in scriptures more thoroughly in another study. We will analyze the common questions in regard to it.

Note: There are many important distinctions to Antichrist doctrine, such as "Lawlessness, indulgence in sin, what it means to deny Christ came in the flesh, denying the father and Son". [2 Thess 2:1-12, 1 John 2:22, 23, 4:3]
Which are all doctrines of Antichrist which are widely accepted by mainstream Christianity. These will all be examined throughout these studies. These studies are designed to give us the power to claim by faith the truth which is freedom from the law of sin and death,[Romans 8:2] and freedom from sin. Victory over all known sin.
